History

Taken from a Brindwinnen Enterprises one-sided acetate and a one-sided MJB recording and transcription disc. Group thought to be from Berkshire. According to the 14th September, 1968 issue of the 'Disc and Music Echo' a band called Thor are mentioned in relation to Warren Davis having formed in the aftermath of the Warren Davis Monday Band. With Warren Davis leaving to audition as lead singer of Pye recording group, The Foundations (due to their lead singer, Clem Curtis leaving for a potential solo career in the USA), the remainder of the band renamed themselves as Thor and found work backing visiting USA acts such as Clyde McPhatter and The Flirtations. It has been documented elsewhere that McPhatter was also backed by Decca recording band, Ice, who may have backed him on his two releases for Decca subsidiary, Deram records in 1968 and 1969. The Flirtations were also signed to Deram records for their UK releases, but it is unclear at this point if it was Ice or Thor who may have provided backing for this USA group.
